What Did You Bring Him?

“You have brought Me not sweet cane with money, nor have you filled Me with the fat of your sacrifices; rather you have burdened Me with your sins, you have wearied Me with your iniquities.” (Isaiah 43:24)

When children work, grow, and learn raising them is hard, but such a blessing.  When our children rebel, choose selfishness, renounce the family, and turn to prodigal ways, the burden our a parent’s heart is incalculable.  Our grown children are our hearts out walking around in the world, and every parent feels it.

Our Father feels it, too.  When we love Him, serve others, and try our best – even the smallest acts of faith bring Him great joy.  He notices every effort and sacrifice we make in our efforts to serve and grow.  When we rebel and turn against Him, we weary and burden His heart.  He has chosen to have His emotions wrapped up in us, and that is a sure sign of how deep our Father’s love for us is.

If you have wandered off from His love – come back, He hasn’t forgotten about you.  If you are working for Him – don’t underestimate how much joy your effort brings Him.
