Who Knows How It Grows?

“The kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the soil; and he goes to bed at night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts and grows – how he himself does not know.”

(Mark 4:26-27)

If we are looking for THE evangelism program that will work, we’ll always be looking.  If there was one way to precisely target exactly the right person and exactly the right way to bring the good news to them, the Bible would lay that program out. Waiting for the perfect time or the perfect candidate to talk to about Jesus is the wrong approach.

Instead, we are told to cast the seed out whatever way we can and let the seed grown while we remain ignorant of how it actually works.  Our job is planting, watering, and waiting.  God’s job is everything else.

The kingdom needs less evangelism strategists and more evangelism doers.
