“Vindicate the weak and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and destitute. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.” (Psalm 82:3-4)
Vindication, justice, and deliverance. These are words of hope, a precious commodity for those whose lives are full of heartache and loss. It isn’t a sin to be needy or weak, but the world we live in often treats the most vulnerable like pariahs.
God is the advocate for the weakest, and God’s people should be, too. He stands in the corner of those whose circumstances have placed them in a position of powerlessness.
