“He reveals the deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him.”
(Daniel 2:22)
Things that go bump in the dark can be terrifying. What we can’t see CAN hurt us, and we don’t even know what it is! Things that are unknown can be big problems, and there are so many unknowns in life.
We don’t know what the future will hold for us or our loved ones. We send our children out into the world and we don’t know what sort of trials they will face and we aren’t able to protect them because the truth is that we are just as defenseless against the unknown as they are. What if scenarios can drive you crazy if you aren’t careful.
We can’t know the future, but we can trust in God. God peers into the darkness of our lives and guards us from that which we cannot see. He is the light and the light dwells with Him. When it is dark outside, the best thing to do is to get close to the campfire where it is warm and safety.
Draw near to God during the scary times of life and you won’t be so afraid. The world can be dark, but His light is so much brighter. Read His Word, pray to Him, give thanks to Him, and bathe your life in His light.
The darkness melts away before the God of light.
