“My soul weeps because of grief; strengthen me according to Your word.” (Ps 119:28)
Life is not as it ought to be. Grief is a word that heaven will not need. Heaven awaits us, but not today. Here, we often must mourn deeply over loss. We mourn the loss of loved ones, the loss of expectations when they fail to be, and even the loss of freedom and mobility as we age. There is no shame in grieving over what is gone.
Grieve deeply over what will no longer be, wipe your eyes, turn to God, and embrace His Word for the strength to face what is.
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” (Rev 21:4)
