“But the noble man devises noble plans; and by noble plans he stands.” (Isaiah 32:8)
A person of high character doesn’t just act nobly, they think nobly. What good is a righteous deed done with evil intent or good intentions without the conviction to stand firmly when it becomes difficult to hold the line?
A noble man has principles and those principles are non-negotiable. He plans his life around those convictions and doesn’t waver on them no matter what the price. If you are willing to adjust your principles if the temptation is strong enough – they aren’t principles, they’re preferences.
Think nobly, plan nobly, and then stand firm in your principled plans. Lighthouses are only useful because they stay put in the storms.
