“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
(Mark 10:45)
How much should we prioritize service in our lives? Jesus’ life answers the question. You never become too important to serve. Indeed, if we look to Jesus’ example the correlation is that increased importance is connected to increased service. None gave more than Him, none matters more than Him.
Jesus came here to serve. He left the halls of eternal veneration to wash feet and feed the hungry. He stood up from an eternal throne to lay down His life and pay it as redemptive cost for a creation that refused to acknowledge His very existence. He cleaned up our mess and mopped up our disaster.
As Christians, we follow Him. We must come to serve. Show up and be someone’s solution.
