Then these men said, “We will not find any ground of accusation against this Daniel unless we find it against him with regard to the law of his God.”
(Daniel 6:5)
What made Daniel so effective in the culture he lived in was how transparently faithful he was. His reputation proceeded him. His enemies knew it would be pointless to try and find skeletons in his closet, bribe him, or somehow tempt him into scandal. Even his opponents had to recognize his character of faith.
It only left them one avenue – they had to make the argument about God. If you have ever wondered how some people are so effective at evangelism, this is one of the tools of the great ones. If people have nothing to dislike about you but your God, it turns out they are forced to deal with God whether or not they want to.
Our job in life is to get out of the way so that others can see God in us. Daniel removed every spot and blemish possible from his life so that even the heathen of Persia could see the sermon he was living every day.
Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in you.
