“The Lord God is my strength, and He has made my feet like hinds’ feet, and makes me walk on my high places.” (Habakkuk 3:19)
A hind is a female deer and she may not have claws and horns for fighting, but boy can she move! A hind can run faster and farther than almost any beast of the forest. She can put her back feet exactly where her front feet were and it makes her an excellent climber. She won’t stumble or take a fall even when scaling really tough terrain.
God can make us that way, too if we ask Him to. Pray for the strength to go across the tough terrain and not to slip when the mountain peaks get higher and higher. Ask Him to keep your feet sure and secure even on the mountain ledges of life. He’s our Father, He wants to give you good gifts.
Following Christ sometimes takes us on crazy journeys, but our feet will stick to the cliff and the views at the top are always worth it.
