It’s Okay to be His Sheeple

“Then I will set over them one shepherd, My servant David, and he will feed them; he will feed them himself and be their shepherd.”

Ezekiel 34:23

The shepherd Ezekiel is referring to is Jesus, the descendant of David.  Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s promise to provide us with one shepherd that loves us as His own.

Many of us know the feeling of spending years of our lives wandering without a shepherd.  Even when you think you know where you are going, without a shepherd, you end up lost.  There is so much uncertainty in this world without someone to guide us.

Who knows what tomorrow may bring?  I’m just a dumb sheep.  I have no idea… but when we’ve got the right Shepherd, we don’t have to know.  Ezekiel reminds us that our Shepherd knows us and feeds us Himself.  He is intimately aware of our needs and the terrain that we must cross.  He knows when we will need to rest, when to push us, and where to provide us with quiet waters to drink from.

Your life is full of so many unknowns.  So stick to what we know.  Know Him and follow Him.  What if this year was the one we all stopped talking about having faith and started living it?

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me”
