People sometimes joke that life doesn’t come with an instruction manual… which feels like a cruel trick to play on mankind.
But, it DOES come with one! God gave us His statutes and His ordinances so that we could live. The Scriptures are all God-breathed and full of instructions about how our marriages should work, how to treat others, how to worship (and who to worship!), child-rearing, what to do to prepare for death, and what sort of things make a full and happy life. These teachings are plainly laid out in the Bible and that’s a gift from Him.
When we ignore the instruction manual, we inevitably have problems. Extra parts leftover, weak joints in the build quality, misuse and destruction of things that are fragile, and other miscellaneous mishaps happen when we don’t heed an instruction manual.
This is your life we’re talking about! Don’t try and go it alone. The Bible is worth the read. The instructions are a well-lived life on the page.
