“Concerning evil, both hands do it well. The prince asks, also the judge, for a bribe, and a great man speaks the desire of his soul; so they weave it together.” (Micah 7:3)
When the leaders in a society can be bought and the people we consider greatest are the most selfish, it is a dark day indeed.
Honesty and selflessness are the two great pillars of righteousness. We cannot do the right thing without first filling our character with a love of the truth and a willingness to sacrifice our own desires for the greater good.
When we teach our children to cherish truth and sacrifice, the whole world reaps the benefit from the people they become. When we don’t, we all suffer the consequences of a society built on moral decay.
