God is Always Searching

“I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, so that I would not destroy it…”

Ezekiel 22:30a

Have you ever searched for something hoping it will turn up?  Like a set of lost keys, God searches amongst His people for someone with the courage to stand up for what is right.

God spends a lot of time and effort searching.  He searches for lost sheep that He may bring them back.  He searches for righteous servants that He might show His strength on their behalf.  He searches for brave souls that will stand up against worldly culture and be the salt of the earth that preserves nations.

God is always looking, but we get to decide whether or not He finds anyone.  Would He see you and I as the brave ones that say the right thing even when it might offend?  He’s looking for seekers, believers, and doers… but in Israel His searches often came up empty.

You know that sense of relief you get when you find something you are afraid was lost forever?  Be that feeling for God.  Be the one He’s searching for.
