Free to Hope

“For You shall break the yoke of their burden and the staff on their shoulders…” (Isaiah 9:4)

700 years before Jesus walked the earth, Isaiah penned this prophecy that Jesus would offer freedom from slavery to His people.  Freedom from the slavery to sin, the burden of guilt and shame, and the fear of punishment are all gone in Him.  We can stand before our God with confidence and approach His throne with boldness because of Jesus.

This is the good news that we have been unshackled from the yoke of the burden of sin.  What a gift to have hope and joy that illuminates our hearts toward eternity.

“For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:30)
