First, Best, and Most

“A son honors his father, and a servant his master.  Then if I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My respect?”

(Malachi 1:6a)

All the important people in your life receive honor and respect.  We dress up to meet dignitaries.  We speak to others with terms like ‘sir’ or ‘ma’am’ to denote our appreciation for their position.  The very tone of our voices change when speaking to our parents – we don’t talk the way we would to our friends.

From taking our hats off to showing up early  – honor and respect shows up in the little things we do to make extra accommodation for those that matter.

Do we make those changes for God?  Does He get that little “extra” that you would offer your boss?  Or does God get our leftovers?  Do you give Him your best, first, and most thoughtful?
