“Then Daniel went to his house and informed his friends, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, about the matter, so that they might request compassion from the God of heaven…”
(Daniel 2:17-18)
When Daniel learned that Nebuchadnezzar was going to execute all the wise men of Babylon unless someone recalled and interpreted his dream, Daniel got his priorities in order. The first thing he did was find his friends of like precious faith and ask them to pray.
Daniel reminds us of two important lessons:
#1 Emergencies are best faced with pray first.
#2 Asking for prayers is a sign of faith, not weakness.
Life is full of obstacles and emergencies and everyone needs people in their life that they can ask to pray for them. Jesus asked Peter, James, and John to join Him in the garden and pray for Him. If it is good enough for the Son of God it should be good enough for us.
Daniel had three friends of prayer. Jesus had three friends of prayer. How about you?
If tomorrow you faced a cataclysmic trial or a crossroads of indecision – what three friends would you ask to pray for you?
