“Circumcise yourselves to the LORD and remove the foreskins of your heart…” (Jeremiah 4:4)
The circumcision of flesh that was performed upon every Israelite boy at eight days old, was a physical sign of a far greater principle. God wishes for us to examine our hearts and voluntarily remove the hardness of our hearts.
In the New Testament, Philippians 3:3 tells us that the true circumcision happens when we worship God in spirit, rejoice in Christ, and stop placing our confidence in the flesh.
True worship, true joy, and eyes fixed on heaven. Sounds pretty good to me.
Let’s remember who we are supposed to be and circumcise our hearts. Worship fiercely, embrace joy, and never forget your eternal home.
