“…and whatever nation to which they will be in bondage, I Myself will judge,” said God
(Acts 7:7)
Worrying about politics is a distraction. God has shown His character in such matters long ago through His dealings with Israel. When Israel was in bondage, God told them that dealing with the nations that enslaved them was His business to judge, not theirs.
In like manner, we Christians are guarded by God in whatever nations we dwell. The leaders of those nations are placed there by God for long as He sees fit, and they are plucked up and thrown down when He so judges.
Do politics effect the lives of the saints? Absolutely.
Should we rise up and disobey laws if they countermand Scripture? Absolutely.
Need we wring our hands over the plots and plans of politicians? No. Our God laughs at such things.
“He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.” (Psalm 2:4)
