“Oh, give ear, Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock; You who are enthroned above the cherubim, shine forth!” (Psalm 80:1)
When was the last time you prayed like you wanted to make sure God heard you? Can you feel the emphatic passion of Asaph as he writes Psalm 80? He wanted God to turn His ear to him and really listen.
If communication is 10% what you say and 90% how you say it, then how we speak to God should matter. #attitudecounts and #howwepray matters.
Do you smile as you say the things you are thankful for? Or does your list of gratitude sound like you are reading a grocery list?
Do you tell Him why you want your prayers answered and pour out your heart as you list the struggles in your life? Do you think about the pain of others as you ask God to comfort them and care for their needs?
Is there a tone of awe in your voice as you count His power and is there reverence in your tone as the name ‘Jehovah’ crosses your lips?
Is there an earnestness in the way you tell Him about your day like a child talking to their Father as He walks in the door after being gone all day. He’s your Father, and He wants to hear!
When you pray, you have His attention. #Dontwastetheopportunity
