“When Jesus went ashore, He saw a large crowd, and He felt compassion for them because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and He began to teach them many things.”
(Mark 6:34)
It was an act of compassion for Jesus to teach the lost. Mark 6:34 does not discuss the reaction of the people to the teaching, but merely the fact that Jesus, full of compassion, taught these lost sheep.
Sometimes the crowds hated Him after He taught them (which they sometimes did) and sometimes they tried to stone Him when they heard Him and sometimes they loved Him for His teaching… but their reaction to His words are not the point. It was compassionate for Him to say them.
Do not withhold truth from others because you fear the reaction to it. Show compassion – teach and speak with all the lost. Regardless of whether they count your words as goodwill or intolerance, you have shown compassion as your Master gave you example.
