“For thus the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, has said, “In repentance and rest you will be saved, in quietness and trust is your strength.” But you were not willing. (Isaiah 30:15)
The hardest thing to do when we feel things are not as they ought to be is to wait for God and rely on Him. Judah wouldn’t do it. They sped to find allies in the Egyptians or the Assyrians. They search around for how to speed up the process of security, but ended up making things a thousand times worse.
God’s way is simple, but hard. Repent of any wrongdoing, rest in His promises, live quietly without complaints, and trust in His strength.
He’ll take care of the rest. Sometimes, not doing something, is something.
