“Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent word to Hezekiah, saying, “Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, ‘Because you have prayed to Me about Sennacherib king of Assyria…’ ” (Isaiah 37:21)
If we learn nothing else from Hezekiah’s life learn this: if you don’t ask, you don’t get.
Isaiah tells Hezekiah that the only reason God was going to stop Assyria was because Hezekiah asked Him, too. “Because you have prayed…”
Hezekiah was the master of asking God for what he wanted. The man who asked God to defeat the Assyrians and grant him fifteen more years of life got what he asked for.
God wants us to show Him our problems even though He already knows about them. Our Father wants us to communicate with Him. Communication matters in every relationship, including the one we have with God.
If we want His help, we need to learn to ask for it. A request never made is never answered.
