“Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you on knowledge and understanding.” (Jeremiah 3:15)
Wouldn’t it be great to have godly leaders? It’s a tough time when we look around at what happens to leadership without God. Politics definitely teach us how much we need Jesus.
Jeremiah reminds us that the best leaders aren’t perfect, but they have a heart for God.
In our homes, in Jesus’ churches, in our businesses, and in our friendships – the need for leadership is real.
If we feed others with knowledge and understanding, it starts with us. We must gain knowledge and be quick to hear so that we can understand.
Today’s culture of echo chamber thinking and senseless anger doesn’t make it easy, but it is still possible.
Spending more time in the Good Book and less time on the FaceBook is probably a start. Having real conversations with the elders in your church and seeking to understand them as they lead will probably help to.
Stronger relationships begin with shepherds who know God and love Him deeply. What if the church showed the world what it really meant to have good leadership?
Certainly couldn’t hurt.
